Habari In the News: May 8, 2008

While not a lot has been happening on the news front of late, big news has been made behind the scenes here at Habari HQ. The fine folks over at Blogging Pro had some nice things to say about Habari in their run down of Self-Hosted Blog Options. As such a young application, it's an honor to be getting the kind of attention we are. In the meantime, our development team (which includes you!) has been doing some serious work. We've added new themes to our default install including Charcoal by Ali B. Which is clean, graphic, and strong; ...

Re: [habari-users] Re: Disabling Comment Moderation?

That's an excellent question. I've CC'd this to the developers list.
There's a comment in the code that asks if we should be unregistering
the 'PreApproved' type. I haven't looked into the implications of
unregistering a type (yet); perhaps someone can now say if it's a bad
idea? The evidence above suggests it may be ...

Plugins directory

[link] lists plugins. Very nice.
Could someone possibly maintain either a README file, or perhaps
a .htaccess file containing AddDescription lines, stating as briefly
as possible what these things do, so that I don't have to download
and unzip every one of them to find out? Who's got access to that

JQuery Update

Is there a chance we could update the version of jquery shipping with
Habari? JQuery was updated to version 1.2.3 in February of this year.
We're currently using version 1.2.1.

I bring this up for two reasons:

1. The release notes for versions 1.2.2 and 1.2.3 show some speed
improvements and many bug fixes.

Testing of the 0.4.1 branch

Can other people confirm that the following do not work:

- Simplefilesilo plugin (nothing works) else, we need to provide
instructions
- Viddler plugin (nothing works, can't log in) I don't even get the
tab on the publish page.

Any other bugs that do not show in the following list:

- When searching, results include deleted content.

My next commit will delete your whole site

I'm about to commit changes on gsnedder's dbupgrade branch to svn
trunk. This change will convert the active Habari database into the
UTF-8 character set.

DOES THIS APPLY TO ME?
If you are running a development (svn trunk) version of Habari, this
may apply to you.
If you are running from a zip file, this does not apply to you.
